IC 417 (Sh2-234) is an open cluster emission and reflection nebula complex located in the constellation Auriga similar to NGC 1931. The nebulas HII is ionized by open cluster Stock 8. The two bright stars to the right are Phi Aur (mag 5.2) and TYC 02411-0684 1 (mag 5.9). IC 417 is referred to as the Spider Nebula and its prey is NGC 1931, the Fly.
