Step #10 - Screw outer race cover by hand then finish with snap ring pliers | Step #11 - Adjust pressure until there is no end play then turn another 1/8 turn. There should be no slippage when turning the micro focuser and holding the gear down with your finger. I found that placing the unit in the freezer for an hour would reveal expected dimensional changes and the focuser would slip based on the adjustments at room temperature. While still cold tighten the race enough so there is no slippage when turning the micro focuser and holding the gear with your thumb. This should now be under the correct bearing load for wide temperature variances. |
